Review: Ahsoka Tano Funko Pop! Figure

A closer look at the breathtaking Ahsoka Tano Funko Pop! figure

I’ve never been much of a collector. But when I first found out that Funko was releasing an Ahsoka Tano Pop! figure, I just knew I had to get my hands on it.

I don’t actually own that many Pop! figures but I’ve been a huge fan of their cute aesthetic for some time and I was thrilled to learn that a line of Star Wars Rebels figures is on its way this autumn.

Of course, I was less thrilled by the fact that Ahsoka turned out to be a Hot Topic exclusive. It’s hard enough trying to find Star Wars merchandise on this side of the Atlantic without certain items being limited to retailers that don’t even exist outside of North America…

But I digress.

The Ahsoka Pop! vinyl figure may possibly be one of the beautifully-crafted Funko figures I’ve ever seen. And I’m not just saying this because I’m a die-hard fan. Honest.

From the intricate motifs on her armour to the markings on her face, from the curved white-bladed lightsabers to her shapely montrals and lekku, you can tell that this figure was sculpted with love. Even the packaging and box art is pleasing to the eye.

There were a couple of minor paintwork issues near her headband and boots as well as one or two tiny stray blue streaks on the white sections of her lekku, but none of these can be seen from a normal distance. You’d have to inspect the figure very closely to spot the imperfections.

Minor flaws aside, the paintwork on this bobble-head figure is just absolutely stunning. I mean…just look at her.

Funko Pop! figures might not appeal to everyone but it’s hard to resist the allure of this adorable figure. And, let’s face it, there just isn’t enough Ahsoka Tano merchandise out there on the market. So this is a must-have for any Ahsoka fan’s collection.

If you live outside the USA, you may need to bribe beg your American friends to grab one for you at their local Hot Topic or you could simply order the figure online via the Hot Topic website.

The good news is that HT *do* ship overseas!

The bad news is that the shipping costs to Europe or elsewhere are pretty steep. It cost $40 to have it shipped to the Netherlands…and that’s without counting the cost of the figure itself.

Oh, the things we do for fandom…

Update: You can also purchase this figure via Amazon (which may cut down on the shipping costs).

  1. I’m not big collector of the Funkos but I do think I’m gonna get this one. I will put her next to my Plo Koon Funko.

    • A perfect companion for Master Plo. 🙂

The Rebels ones look pretty nifty so I’ll probably get a Hera and Sabine to go with my Snips further down the line (not sure when they’re supposed to be released).
