Back in May 2016, comic artist Phillip Sevy (Tomb Raider) and writer Michael Moreci (Suicide Squad, Roche Limit) announced that they are working on a collection of Star Wars fan comics to celebrate the release of Rogue One this December.
One of these comics is the Ahsoka Tano tale, “Touching Darkness”, and while the comic won’t be published online for another few months, Sevy and Moreci have shared a few teasers for their fan project on Twitter.
The first batch of teasers included character designs and concept art for former Jedi Master Quinlan Vos (presumed “missing in action” at the end of Revenge of the Sith) and a mysterious character who may or may not have appeared on The Clone Wars.
On August 10, Sevy shared a sneak peek of an inked page he’d just completed. The final version will be coloured by award-winning colourist David Baron, who is known for his work on the Valiant Comic series Bloodshot: Reborn and Divinity.

Sevy and Moreci shared a few more bite-sized teasers from the comic in November 2016, which show off some of the amazing line art and colour work Sevy, Baron, and Juancho Velez have created for the project.

Readers should keep in mind that “Touching Darkness” is a fan project and, therefore, the events of the upcoming comic should not be considered canon in any way. In an ideal world, Marvel would get wind of this amazing venture and hire Sevy and Moreci to work on an official Ahsoka Tano comic…
Return of the Tales From the Far, Far Away will be published online for free this December (exact date TBA) and will feature art by Phillip Sevy, David Baron, Morgan Luthi, Drew Zucker, John Broglia, and Kendall Goode. Keep an eye out for my review later this year!
