‘Yarnsoka’, Comic Con’s Craftiest Cosplay
The most amazing crochet Ahsoka Tano costume you will ever see!
San Diego Comic Con has come and gone and while Ashley Eckstein’s Lego dress and Ahsoka-inspired braids created quite a stir, it wasn’t the only Ahsoka Tano outfit that was turning heads at this year’s convention.
Candice Dunlap Miller’s striking “Yarnsoka” cosplay caught the eye of Star Wars: The Clone Wars supervising director Dave Filoni and Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein (as well as that of numerous convention-goers) and has the distinction of being the only Ahsoka Tano costume made almost entirely out of yarn.
A web designer by trade and an extremely talented crochet enthusiast in her spare time, Candice Dunlap spent four months sketching, designing, and hand-crocheting Ahsoka’s tunic and various accessories, including Ahsoka’s two lightsabers, gauntlets, and a headpiece representing the Togruta’s montrals and lekku.
And if that wasn’t enough, she even found the time to make a Rebels lightsaber scarf as a gift for Ashley.
